With the continuous development of wireless technology, the application of wireless networks is increasingly accepted by various industries. Wireless network monitoring, as a special use of wireless networks, is gradually gaining popularity among users. Its convenient installation, strong flexibility, and high cost-effectiveness make more monitoring systems in various industries adopt wireless methods to establish connections between monitored points and monitoring centers. Wireless network monitoring technology has been widely applied in modern residential areas, transportation, water conservancy, shipping, public security, fire protection and other fields.

The wireless network monitoring system is a combination of computer, wireless network, and video encoding technology. It can transmit real-time on-site information from different locations to the monitoring center through wireless communication means, and automatically form a video database for future retrieval. In the monitoring system, the monitoring center needs to obtain real-time video information of the monitored points, and the video information must be continuous and clear. At the monitored point, cameras are usually used to collect real-time information on the scene. The cameras are connected to wireless bridge devices through a video server and send data signals to the monitoring center through the wireless bridge.

Compared with traditional monitoring solutions, wireless network monitoring has the following three major advantages:
1. Low overall cost, only requiring a one-time investment, no need to dig trenches or bury pipes, especially suitable for outdoor locations with long distances and already decorated areas; In many cases, users are often limited by geographical environments and work content, such as mountains, ports, and open areas, which cause great inconvenience to wired network and wired transmission wiring projects. The construction period of using wired networks will be long, and even impossible to achieve. At this point, using wireless networks can break free from the constraints of cables, with the advantages of short installation cycles, easy maintenance, strong expansion capabilities, and rapid cost recovery.
2. Flexible networking, good scalability, plug and play, network managers can quickly add new monitoring points to existing networks without the need to lay new transmission networks or add equipment, making remote video monitoring easy to achieve.
3. Low maintenance costs, wireless network maintenance is carried out by network providers, and front-end devices are plug and play, maintenance free systems.

Application scope of wireless video surveillance:
Wireless monitoring devices can be widely used in various fields such as security monitoring, traffic monitoring, industrial monitoring, home monitoring, etc., with a wide range and scattered distribution. For example:
·Wireless network monitoring for bank ATMs, supermarkets, factories, mines, etc
·Schools, nursing homes, and kindergartens provide remote wireless monitoring services
·Unmanned systems for power stations and telecommunications base stations
·Wireless monitoring systems for petroleum, drilling, exploration, etc
·Intelligent Building and Intelligent Community Wireless Management System
·Pipeline monitoring, warehouse wireless supervision
·24-hour monitoring of road traffic
·Wireless remote monitoring of forests, water sources, and river resources
·Outdoor equipment monitoring and management
·Bridge, tunnel, and intersection traffic monitoring system
