Solution for Broadband Wireless Access Coverage in Residential Areas
Update Time: 2025.08.30 Clicks:

1、 Analysis of WLAN Requirements in Residential Areas
The traditional data access provided for residential areas generally adopts the method of fiber optic+LAN or ADSL. With the development of WLAN technology, this wireless data transmission technology has become quite mature and can be used as a new access method to replace traditional access methods. For some old residential areas where wired networks are difficult to access, WLAN is a convenient, fast, practical, and very fashionable access method. Through technological platform support, provide a complete solution of wired backbone and wireless access coverage for the community network.

System Objective:

Covering the entire community wirelessly, the system can manage every user and every wireless access point/wireless bridge, fully considering network security. The system has multi-level security protection measures to meet the requirements of user identity authentication, access control, auditability, and confidentiality. With the continuous development of network scale, the system should be able to upgrade and expand continuously to ensure system availability, record the internet information of each user, and enable billing servers to charge through various methods such as time and traffic

2、 The advantages of wireless access
In recent years, the construction of broadband networks has sparked waves of enthusiasm, and broadband applications have also increased. At the same time, various broadband access methods have emerged. Among various broadband access technologies, ADSL、CableModem、 Ethernet, WLAN, and other technologies have applications. Indeed, as an operational broadband access method, there were many doubts about WLAN due to standard issues, security concerns, authentication and billing systems during its initial operation. However, now these issues have been addressed to some extent, dispelling people's concerns.

WLAN will gradually become the new favorite of broadband access, because compared with other wired broadband access methods, WLAN access has the following advantages:

ADSL、CableModem、 Ethernet access, as a solution for wired broadband access, requires various cables to be laid in advance. The network construction cycle is long, and the network maintenance cost is high. Users can only access the internet in places with information points, which limits the activity range of end users. The construction of WLAN does not require the laying of more cables and has features such as mobility and roaming that wired networks cannot match, allowing users to truly achieve broadband network access anytime, anywhere, and freely.

There are many users in the community, especially high-end commercial users with high data demands, who have a strong demand for broadband services. At the same time, these users have relatively high demands for internet access, especially for mobility. WLAN not only meets users' internet needs, but also allows them to move freely in places where WLAN is deployed.

Wireless LAN also has the characteristics of simple installation, easy scalability, and easy management. When the number of users within the coverage area of the network increases, only a few more wireless access points (APs) need to be deployed without the need for rewiring or other work. Therefore, wireless LANs have strong scalability, which also enables the initial operation of the network to save investment as much as possible.

The gradual popularity of laptops and the emergence and promotion of wireless PDAs have also contributed to the rapid development of WLAN access and expanded its competitive advantage as a broadband access. The positioning of wireless LAN as an application mode for broadband access has broken through its original application mode, and the combination with mobile networks has drawn a new blueprint for the further development of wireless LAN. As a new mode of wireless LAN application, operators are actively experimenting with the combination of wireless LAN and mobile networks. At the same time, relevant international standard organizations are also developing technical standards in this area, and China has also conducted research and development of relevant standards in this regard. At the same time, the technology of wireless LAN itself is constantly developing, and the formulation of standards such as 802.11e (Wireless LAN QoS), 802.11f (IAPP), and 802.11i (Wireless LAN Security) provides important guarantees for its application. It can be said that wireless local area network is a new choice for broadband access, and it will undoubtedly bring abundant profit returns to operators!

Wireless has always received widespread attention due to its unique low cost, convenience, and speed. Zhongcheng Company has conducted long-term tracking and research on WLAN technology, combined with the actual needs of domestic telecommunications operators for data access, and adopted self-developed WLAN products to propose a feasible broadband community wireless LAN access solution.
